In particular, I'd like to draw your attention to a fabulous lady called Larua Tisdel who has been working her artistic fingers to the bone these last few days, sketching pics from short descriptions writers posted for their main character. I threw my hat into the ring, and Larua has sketched Callie, the heroine of my story 'A Shadow Over Nerennor.'
I love seeing my character through someone else's eyes! Isn't the sketch fantastic? (I'm so jealous of anyone who can draw like that!)
Here's the link to Larua's DeviantArt gallery, in case you want to check out more of her work (you really should!).
I love the sketch. It is great to see Callie on the page! I have no talent at drawing a person - I'm jealous too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rubianna! :o)
DeleteI watched the Google Hangout. It was very interesting, gleened a lot of info and very cool to hear your tweet read out. The sketch is cool, though not quite how I imagine Callie. I see her more round cheeked and with dark hair. (I know there's no color, but I'm getting a feeling its meant to be blonde) ;-) Thanks for sharing with us Annette!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephanie! I thought the Google Hangouts were a great addition to the conference - helped make it much more interactive (& it was a bonus to have mine read out, especially when it wasn't totally shot down in flames, lol). Yes, Callie should have golden brown hair really, so should be darker. :o)
ReplyDeleteHi Annette--sorry I'm so lame. I'm just NOW taking a look at this! How very awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteTotally! :o)
